Parliament returns with a sense of déjà vu
“A parliamentary committee was hearing credible and embarrassing testimony. The opposition parties had combined to pass a parliamentary resolution demanding the government hand over all relevant documents. The Prime Minister refused, citing national security. A nasty constitutional fight over the powers of Parliament loomed. Prorogation was supposed to make it go away.
Instead, the public reacted angrily, the Conservatives dropped in the polls, and the whole affair returned to the front burner with the reopening of Parliament.”

CAPP – Thanks for your leadership!!!!
I had a brief exchange with Sir John A. in February and asked him how he and his buddies had raised funds to win elections. John A. said it wasn’t necessary because only men with money could got elected. Next I asked what he thought about the Afghan detainee issue. “Well,” he replied: “I have often wondered why we went to Afghanistan in the first place.”
